HeadHunters Drumsticks Cattails
Cattails are similar to Blasters with the addition of 3 strategically placed polyethylene solid balls. There is a small O ring on the rod holding each polyethylene ball, these O rings can be pushed forward restricting the ball position. If the O ring is moved away from the ball, the ball can float more freely, adding to the percussive dynamic of this unique bundled rod. The polypropylene rod material produces a great drum sound but on cymbal the sound created is more wash sound than a focused sound but when using the Cattails, the result is like EQ’ing the cymbals, lifting them from a wash sound to a more focused sound thereby matching the overall dynamic and sound produced on the drums. We included Cattails these under our Hybrid section, because they incorporate many attributes of regular bundled rods with the added benefit of being able to produce a ping or wash sound from cymbals.

They provide a very balanced sound between drums and cymbals. They incorporate many attributes of regular bundled rods with the added benefit of being able to produce a ping or wash sound from cymbals.

HeadHunters Drumsticks Crossovers II Bamboo
Crossovers II use the same designs are the regular Crossovers but the diameter size has been reduced to that of a 5B.
Crossovers Bamboo
Use a hickory drumstick and larger semi round bamboo with the outer skin intact.
Note: The major feature of all Crossovers are as follows; they respond and play very fast, the bulb area is a solid bead. It can be played on the bell of a cymbal like a regular drumstick, this stick design can also be used to execute rim shots and cross sticking with the sound expectations of a regular stick. Because we have combined rods with a solid stick shaft design, a drummer will notice the dynamic range possible with this stick is very useful if and when the intensity and volume of the music increases during a tune.

HeadHunters Drumsticks Crossovers II Bamboo Light
The Crossovers II Bamboo Light combine the concept of bundled rods with that of a regular maple drum stick. After lathing the unique shaped shaft of the Crossover II, they drill a centre hole down to a bulb area then insert and secure bundle of light weight bamboo strands. The bamboo strands are very thin, allowing for many to be inserted into the playing end, providing a soft natural sound. Because they leave the outer skin intact on these thin bamboo strands, they are very strong and resilient. They then finish the stick with their user friendly ‘Grip Control’ which features the double textured ‘X’ pattern feel. The overall playing benefits, of the solid wood zone for bell and cymbal definition, cross sticking and rim shot friendly are all part characteristic inherent in all the Crossovers unique Hybrid Bundle design

HeadHunters Drumsticks Cyclops
Cyclops
These are some of the most unique modern brush designs to reach drummers today. Wire drum brushes were first invented in 1913. After 100 years of very little changes to the concept of wire brushes, headhunters redesigned and revolutionized the entire concept.
Cyclops Brushes
Incorporate an adjustable polycarbonate rod with an adjustable bead and a traditional non retractable wire brush. The rod is centered above and over the wire brush fan. The rod can be adjusted in length and height by adjusting the O rings. The bead can be set to a position along the rod. The purpose of the bead and rod are to provide a focal point as desired. The added materials are extremely light and incredibly strong with very fast response and memory flexibility. They do not encumber the function of the traditional brush.

HeadHunters Drumsticks Doobies Bundled Rods
The concept of bundled rods are not new, many have copied the original design of the 19 dowels that form a hexagonal shape. Construction methods may vary, however, good response and bounce seem to be missing in their attempts to recreate this particular mouse trap. In order to achieve a bundled rod sound and create a drumstick like bounce, we have inserted an internal dowel. This format allows the stick to be round in diameter. In the gripping area we have glued the dowels together; this stiffens the sticks and aids in the bounce response. We also split the centre dowel so that the interplay between the dowels is further enriched. By splitting the centre dowel to about the 40mm mark from the playing end, allows the centre dowel in the split zone to compress and spring back. The resulting design creates the sound expectations of the bundled rod concept but with significantly more rebound and with the feel and response of a solid drumstick. In the image we presented here, you can see the internal slots tight together, this is how they are compressed or when the drum or cymbal is struck, the wood the expands back to the open position immediately after. This compression and expansion characteristic improves the bounce greatly. You would not believe the difference until you try!!! These are a smokin’ good stick! Doobies incorporate the same concept as Spliffs but utilizing 12 birch external rods and a 3/8 internal rod with a double split at the playing end. Doobies are bigger than Spliffs!
